Direction

One of the things people like to joke about is the fact that men do not follow direction. If we're lost we won't stop and ask for help. When it comes time to put together the children's toys from Christmas we don't look at the instructions. We think have an innate sense of doing things the right way, our way. But more times than not we have to swallow our pride and stop and ask for help, or read the instructions to get the bike put together before the kids wake up on Christmas morning.

I think this happens when it comes to following God's will. It's hard to do. We don't always ask for His direction, we don't always ask for blessings, we don't always ask for revelation. But we should, it may save us time in the long run or maybe set us on a course to make a difference in the lives of those around us.

What would happen today if we set our pride aside and asked for His help? What would happen today if we actually followed His direction? What would happen today if we read the instructions before we jumped into a project? What would happen today if we helped each other follow God's will for our lives?

What would happen today...?

Genesis 6:14-16, 22 (NIV©2010)

So make yourself an ark of cypress wood; make rooms in it and coat it with pitch inside and out. This is how you are to build it: The ark is to be three hundred cubits long, fifty cubits wide and thirty cubits high. Make a roof for it, leaving below the roof an opening one cubit high all around Put a door in the side of the ark and make lower, middle and upper decks...

22 Noah did everything just as God commanded him.
